Block Bonding Primer

Block Bonding Primer

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) and Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete (ALC) blocks are prized for insulation, but their porous structure pairs very high water absorption with low surface tension. Plaster or leveling mortar loses its hydration water almost instantly when it meets such a wall, which is why untreated lightweight masonry so often shows plaster cracking, crazing, hollowing and eventual delamination. Our Block Bonding Primer (YT-400D) is a high-penetration polymer emulsion engineered to bridge that physical gap. It soaks up to 5 mm into the porous microstructure of the block, sealing pores and evening out suction, while leaving a textured, high-grip chemical film on the face that strengthens the interlayer bond to the plaster that follows. The result is plaster that hydrates fully instead of drying too fast on a thirsty wall.

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) and Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete (ALC) blocks are prized for insulation, but their porous structure pairs very high water absorption with low surface tension. Liquid primers live or die on dilution stability and alkali resistance. We manufacture this emulsion on our automated coating and emulsion lines using premium acrylic polymers and cross-linking additives, so the primer stays active and stable even in contact with highly alkaline cementitious materials. For distributors and green-building contractors, that stability is what turns a known failure mode into a controllable one - our own testing shows pre-treated walls gain substantially in tensile bond strength over untreated lightweight masonry. Packaged as a liquid concentrate, it also reduces shipping volume, which matters for importers weighing landed cost.

Applications

- AAC / ALC block walls and panels before plastering - seals the pores and regulates suction so the plaster can hydrate instead of being drained dry.

- Lightweight aggregate concrete and precast concrete elements - converts an inconsistent, dusty surface into a uniform key for the finishing coat.

- High-absorption masonry in interior and exterior works - provides the interlayer bridge that prevents hollowing and delamination between block and render.

Customization

Liquid concentrate formulas to cut international freight and dilute on-site; pre-tinted colours (e.g. green or yellow) so crews can visually confirm coverage; private labeling and drum sizes from 20 kg to 1000 kg IBC tanks.

Packaging & Transportation

20 kg / 50 kg plastic drums or 1000 kg IBC tanks; securely stacked on pallets and strapped for ocean freight. Standard containerized transport EXW Deqing with tight sealing against temperature extremes.

FAQ

Q: Can I dilute this primer on site?

A: Yes. Concentrate grades are formulated to be diluted on site to the required working strength, which saves freight on imported volume; follow the recommended dilution ratio from our technical data sheet.

Q: How long should the primer dry before plastering?

A: Allow surface dry within roughly 2 hours and full cure within about 24 hours, then apply the plaster or render over the textured film.

Q: Why does lightweight block plaster hollow out without a primer?

A: AAC blocks absorb water rapidly from the wet plaster, robbing it of the moisture needed for cement hydration. The primer seals those pores and evens suction so the plaster cures properly.
