Integrated Energy-Saving and Insulation Solution for Self-Built Houses (Aerogel Thermal Insulation Coating + Glass Heat Insulation Coating)

I. Core Strategy

The solution centers on "Passive Energy Saving." By applying aerogel thermal insulation coatings to walls, roofs, and floors, we block indoor-outdoor heat conduction. Combined with glass heat insulation coatings to block infrared and ultraviolet (IR/UV) rays, this dual approach enhances building thermal performance, reduces energy consumption for air conditioning and heating, and ensures construction ease and living comfort. It is perfectly suited for the low-cost, high-performance renovation needs of self-built houses.

II. Core Materials and Performance Advantages

1. Walls / Roof / Floor: Aerogel Thermal Insulation Coating

Core Performance: Thermal conductivity is as low as 0.044 W/(m·K) or below. Its energy-saving effect is 2-3 times that of traditional insulation materials. It is high-temperature resistant, waterproof, and moisture-proof, with excellent resistance to peeling or cracking in complex outdoor environments.

Application Areas: Interior and exterior walls, roof surfaces, and floor substrates. It can be applied directly to cement mortar, concrete, and other substrates without the need for complex keel supports.

2. Windows: Nano-Glass Heat Insulation Coating

Core Performance: Blocks over 90% of infrared and ultraviolet rays, reducing indoor temperatures by 5–8°C without affecting natural light. It is easy to apply directly to the inner glass surface, eliminating the need to replace windows. The cost is only 1/3 of Low-E glass.

Application Areas: All glass windows (including balconies and glass sunroom roofs).

III. Construction Process and Technical Key Points

(A) External Wall Construction (Aerogel Coating)

Substrate Treatment: Clean the wall, remove loose parts, and repair cracks with polymer cement mortar. Concrete walls require an interface agent; brick/block walls require a cement mortar leveling layer or waterproof layer (cured for 7+ days). Apply interface agent to enhance bonding and prevent peeling.

Insulation Layer: Spray/apply aerogel coating in 2–3 coats for a total thickness of 2–3 mm (up to 3–5 mm in cold northern regions). Allow 8–12 hours between coats to ensure no sagging.

Leveling Putty: Apply specialized exterior wall putty and sand it. Flatness error should be ≤ 4mm/2m.

Finish Coat: Use elastic latex paint or faux stone paint with high stain, sun, and aging resistance. Light colors are recommended to reduce heat absorption.

Detail Protection: Install drip lines on windowsills and eaves. Round off wall corners. Apply weather-resistant sealant at the junction of window frames and walls to prevent water seepage.

(B) Internal Wall Construction (Aerogel Coating)

Substrate Treatment: Remove dust and hollow areas. Fill cracks with water-resistant putty and straighten corners. Apply interface agent to enhance adhesion.

Insulation Layer: Apply a thin first coat (0.5–1 mm). Once surface-dry (4–6 hours), apply the second coat for a total thickness of 2–3 mm (3 mm recommended for northern regions). Use a scraper or spray gun, ensuring no sagging or bubbles.

Leveling: Apply interior wall putty and sand after each coat. Flatness error should be ≤ 3mm/2m.

Finish Coat: Use matte or silk water-based interior paint, or artistic coatings/texture paint as desired.

Detail Protection: Apply neutral weather-resistant sealant at the junctions of baseboards, door frames, and window casings.

(C) Roof Construction (Aerogel Coating)

Substrate Treatment: Clear debris, repair cracks, and apply a 2–3 mm waterproof mortar leveling layer (ensure no water pooling).

Waterproofing: Apply flexible waterproof coating. Once dry, proceed with aerogel insulation (to prevent seepage).

Insulation Layer: Spray 2–3 coats for a total thickness of 3–4 mm. Once dry, cover with waterproof membranes or weather-resistant topcoats to create a thermal "closed loop."

(D) Floor Insulation

Apply aerogel coating → Level the floor → Install tiles or wooden flooring. This significantly enhances the floor's thermal retention.

(E) Glass Heat Insulation Coating Construction

Cleaning: Wipe the inner glass surface with alcohol or glass cleaner to ensure it is free of dust and water stains (essential for adhesion and clarity).

Application: Once completely dry, use a specialized roller to apply one even coat. Avoid missed spots or sagging.

Curing: Let it air dry for 48 hours. Avoid touching or contact with water during this period.

IV. Solution Advantages and Energy-Saving Effects

1. Core Advantages

Low Cost, High ROI: The material and construction costs are significantly lower than traditional EIFS (External Insulation Finishing Systems). The payback period is approximately 2–3 years.

Convenience: No heavy machinery is required. It is labor-efficient with a short construction cycle (approx. 5–7 days for a 100㎡ house) and does not affect the main structure.

Safety & Eco-friendly: Aerogel coatings are free from formaldehyde and benzene. The glass coating is odorless, allowing for immediate move-in.

2. Energy-Saving Effects

Summer: Indoor temperatures are 5–8°C lower than standard houses; AC energy consumption is reduced by 40%–60%.

Winter: Indoor temperatures increase by 3–5°C; heating energy consumption is reduced by 30%–50%.

Protection: Blocks 90%+ of UV rays, preventing furniture and walls from fading and aging.

V. Application Scenarios and Precautions

1. Application Scenarios

Self-built houses nationwide (especially in cold northern or hot southern regions). Compatible with brick-concrete, frame, and light-steel structures.

Suitable for both renovation of existing houses and new construction (recommended after the main structure is finished but before interior decoration begins).

2. Precautions

Stir aerogel coating thoroughly before use to avoid layering; seal unused portions tightly.

Avoid exterior construction on rainy or windy days; protect from rain for 48 hours after application.

Apply glass coating after window installation to avoid contamination.

Protect finished surfaces: Avoid collisions on internal walls for 7 days and contact with sharp objects on external walls for 15 days.
