Product Description
Modern porcelain and large-format tiles are fired to an extremely dense body with very low water absorption and a smooth, often release-agent-tainted backing. Ordinary cement mortar cannot develop a stable mechanical key on such surfaces, which is why wet-set installations so commonly fail with hollow spots, weak interfaces, and eventual tile detachment. Our Tile Bonding Adhesive is a single-component back-surface treatment engineered with an imported high-grade polymer emulsion as its core, reinforced with multifunctional additives. Applied to the cleaned tile back before wet-setting, it wets the micro-texture, dries from a milky white liquid into a clear, tough adhesive film, and converts a slippery, low-absorption backing into a properly receptive bonding surface. The film carries balanced flexibility, weather resistance, and resistance to chalking, so the decorative layer stays anchored even where structural movement, temperature cycling, or persistent moisture would otherwise separate a plain cement bed from the tile.
Because back treatment is a process-sensitive step, consistency of emulsion quality matters as much as the chemistry itself. We produce this material on our dedicated liquid-coating line under automated batching, which keeps viscosity and polymer dispersion even batch to batch - directly reducing on-site variables for your installers. At roughly 15 m² per kilogram, the coverage is high, so a 15 kg bucket treats a large run of tiles and lowers the per-square-meter preparation cost. Backed by our Huzhou municipal R&D center, the same polymer platform is tuned to remain compatible with standard cement-based tile adhesives rather than competing with them.

Applications
- Large-format porcelain and vitrified tile wet-setting - the dense, near-non-absorbent backing cannot key to plain cement; the film supplies the missing intermediate grip and prevents hollowing behind heavy panels.
- Marble and natural stone installations - the uniform interface helps the bedding mortar transfer evenly across stone backs that carry varying porosity, reducing unsupported voids.
- Residential renovations, commercial spaces and public buildings - the single-step brush/roller process fits tight renovation sites where a reliable, low-callback bond is required.
Customization
OEM private labeling on the 15 kg bucket and adjustment of film hardness / drying speed to suit tropical or cold climates; compatibility matching with your nominated cement-based adhesive can be confirmed through a trial batch.
Packaging & Transportation
15 kg plastic buckets, standard palletized, strapped and shrink-wrapped for ocean transport. Shipped EXW from our Deqing (Zhejiang) manufacturing base, close to Ningbo and Shanghai ports, with full export documentation.
FAQ
Q: Do I still need a cement-based tile adhesive after using this back treatment?
A: Yes. The Tile Bonding Adhesive primes the tile back; it is an interface layer, not a substitute for the setting mortar. Use it together with a compatible cement-based tile adhesive or mortar.
Q: When is the back treatment ready for tiling?
A: Wait until the applied film changes from milky white to transparent and feels tacky but no longer sticky to the touch - typically 0.5 to 2 hours depending on ventilation and temperature.
Q: Can it be used on tiles that already show hollowing in an existing wall?
A: This product treats clean, intact tile backs during new wet-setting. For loose tiles already detached from a substrate, the tiles should be removed and the wall re-bedded rather than treated in place.
