Product Description
Renovating a wall finished in glazed mosaic or glass tile usually means demolition - noisy, dusty, slow, and often damaging to the substrate. Our Mosaic Surface Coating (YT-620B(A)) is built to remove that step. It is a polymer-based liquid primer loaded with hard quartz-sand aggregates, formulated to coat smooth, non-porous glazed surfaces. Once applied it cures into a rough, textured "bridge" that gives new tile adhesive or plaster real mechanical and chemical grip. Contractors can then tile or finish directly over old glazed mosaics, with no break-out, saving up to roughly 60% of renovation time and avoiding the dust and debris of demolition work.
A tile-on-tile system lives or dies on a bond to glassy glaze. We manufacture this quartz-filled primer on our specialty coatings line, using high-molecular-weight acrylic resins that cross-link with the glazed substrate so the coat does not peel, blister, or lose adhesion even in wet zones such as old pools and bathrooms. The 55–65% solids loading keeps a heavy, sand-rough film in a single coat rather than several thin ones. For renovation contractors and trade agents, that means a repeatable, low-VOC surface-prep system they can sell confidently to commercial clients who cannot afford long closure times.

Applications
- Direct tile-on-tile over old glazed mosaics and glass tiles - the sand-rough bridge lets new adhesive grip a surface that would otherwise reject it.
- Priming smooth precast concrete, polished natural stone and non-porous substrates - converts glassy, low-absorption faces into a key for subsequent coats.
- Kitchen, bathroom and swimming pool renovation without demolition - wet zones stay sealed because the cross-linked acrylic film resists blistering under moisture.
Customization
Custom colours (e.g. bright blue, yellow, green) as a visual coverage guide; OEM labeling on 10 kg to 25 kg plastic drums; formulations tuned to local environmental regulations.
Packaging & Transportation
20 kg heavy-duty plastic drums, securely nested on pallets, strapped and fully shrink-wrapped. Export-grade container loading EXW Deqing with bracing to prevent shifting during sea transit.
FAQ
Q: Can I tile directly over old mosaic without removing it?
A: With this primer, yes. It creates a textured quartz-sand bridge on the glazed face so new tile adhesive bonds to the old mosaic surface instead of sliding off the glassy glaze.
Q: Why is quartz sand added to a primer?
A: The sand aggregates cure into a rough, mechanical key. Smooth glazed tile has no texture for cement adhesive to grip, so the built-in roughness is what makes tile-on-tile possible.
Q: How long after coating can I apply the next layer?
A: Allow surface dry within about 2 hours and apply the next coat or adhesive after roughly 4 to 6 hours, depending on temperature and ventilation.
