Tile Back Coating

Tile Back Coating

Tile Back Coating (back-coating adhesive) is a specialized back-surface treatment built on imported high-quality polymer emulsion, reinforced with multiple multifunctional additives. It is designed to prime the back of porcelain tiles, stone, and densely structured tiles during wet-adhesion installation. Once brushed or rolled on, it quickly forms a high-tack film that turns the smooth, dense, low-absorption tile back into a stable, uniform bonding substrate, markedly improving bond strength to cement-based adhesives and reducing hollow spots, detachment, and weak adhesion. It is a single-component, ready-to-use liquid, so there is no on-site mixing; the film adds flexibility, weather resistance, and resistance to chalking to the decorative system.

Product Description

Our dedicated coating line runs this as a single-component water-based emulsion, which keeps the film-forming and tack properties controlled without on-site ratio errors. Because it reaches roughly 15 m²/kg, the line's coverage consistency directly improves a contractor's material cost per square meter, and the fast milky-to-clear dry behavior is verified batch by batch. A single liquid drum also simplifies export logistics: one SKU, one drum form, no matched powder to mismatch.

Applications

- Large-format porcelain and dense brick backs - converts a smooth, non-porous back into a bondable film so cement bedding can hold large, heavy panels.

- Marble and natural stone wet-set - raises bond reliability on stone backs where ordinary backing treatment underperforms.

- Home renovation and old wall re-tiling - fast single-component coat streamlines both new build and renovation back-treatment work without mixing equipment.

- Commercial and public building tiling - consistent high-tack film supports safe, long-term installation over a range of interior and exterior wet-set conditions.

Customization

Emulsion grade and coat consistency can be adjusted to tile format and climate; custom drum sizes, private-brand labeling, and packaging for retail or project distribution are available on request.

Packaging & Transportation

The single-component liquid is packed in plastic drums (standard drum range for liquid products), palletized, strapped and shrink-wrapped. Goods ship ex-factory (EXW) from Deqing, Zhejiang, with SDS supplied for the liquid; exact drum capacity per SKU is confirmed per order.

FAQ

Q: How do I know when the back coat is ready for tiling?

A: Watch the film: it goes from milky white to transparent and feels tacky but not sticky to the touch. At that stage, apply cement mortar or tile adhesive for installation; tiling on a still-milky, wet coat will reduce the bond.

Q: Does this product need mixing on site?

A: No. It is a single-component, ready-to-use emulsion, so after cleaning the tile back you simply brush or roll it on. That removes mixing-ratio errors and speeds up crews with limited labor.

Q: What is the practical coverage and why does it matter?

A: Coverage runs about 15 m²/kg, which makes it a cost-effective back treatment. Because a little goes a long way, plan material by surface area rather than panel count.
